Health promotion is an essential health care issue that should be implemented by all members of the health care team (Hosseini, Torab, Taghdisi, Vardanjani, 2013). Nurses play a critical role in health promotion for patients, family, and community because we provide direct patient care and are able to see the whole picture of the client’s situation. The population of people with chronic illness is increasing and the health care needs of clients is trending in an upward fashion (Jadelhack, 2012). As members of the health care field, it is critical that nurses take a proactive approach in preventing the increasing trend of chronic, complex illnesses by promoting health for our patients, family, and the community. There are three levels†¦show more content†¦Nurses implement health promotion in community setting, hospitals, schools, clinics, and nursing facility. The health promotion process in a nursing setting includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, imple mentation, and evaluation (Edelman, Kudzma, Mandle, 2014). The nursing assessment includes data collection and analysis to identify the client’s situation. Physical, environmental, cultural, spiritual, emotional, and educational data are collected during the nursing assessment. The next step is to develop nursing diagnosis(es) and prioritize the identified problems (Edelman, Kudzma, Mandle, 2014). Once the problems are identified, the planning of care can take place. The plan includes written goals, problems, expected outcomes from the patient/family/community, and interventions that will be taken to achieve the goals and improve outcomes (Edelman, Kudzma, Mandle, 2014). In planning for health promotion, the nurse needs to taylor the plan to suit the learning needs, environment, and health needs of the client, family, or community (Povlsen, 2011). Interventions by the nurse are meant to empower and education the person to make changes in health behavior including sc reening, education, and crisis intervention. Ongoing evaluation of the health promotion process is essential in improving methods and health outcomes. Women have transitioned from submissive conservative roles to liberal something. A big part of this is due to the view of women changing in history. The 1800s was a time of, â€Å"advancement, invention and enterprise in the world of moving images.† Thomas Edison, with the help of his assistants, created and patented the Kinetograph and Kinetoscope in 1891. These tools later created series of still frames that passed at a continuous rate. Because of the defect persistence of vision, the average person views a moving image. The psychological impact on victims of domestic violence can be so awful that it sometimes has irreversible trauma and can result in various kinds of mental illness. Survivors of abusive relationships have emotional disadvantages and trust issues. But in time, the lucky ones who got out and got away heal. The abuser always has a chance of going off the deep end and exceeding the limits of past abuse. He will eventually take the level of battering a little higher each time, exerting his anger even more every fight. This, in due time, will, if not completely stopped, lead to the death of someone’s loved one. It could very easily be your daughter, your sister, your mother, your friend. It could one day be you. The first step is intervening. They need someone to rely on and help them through this distressing, painful event in there life. They can be free from the chains of abuse. Albert Lamorisse’s The Red Balloon tells the story of a young boy named Pascal who finds friendship in an uncharacteristic object. This thirty-four-minute French film was written, produced, and directed by Lamorisse and takes place in Paris, France. The movie stars Lamorisse’s son roaming the neutral and earthy tone streets post WWII, with the exception of a bright red balloon which is shunned by some and envied by others. Through the use of character, setting, and allegory, Lamorisse displays the concepts of friendship, loyalty, and ostracism in his film The Red Balloon. As soon as the opening scene begins, we are immediately introduced to the main character Pascal, who takes notice of a bright scarlet balloon that is tied to a post. Feeding into his curiosity, he climbs up the post and unties the balloon to take it with him to school. When Pascal tries getting on the trolley to get to school, the driver, as well as everyone else on the trolley, will not let him get on. Realizing he starts to get shunned upon for carrying the balloon, it draws Pascal to have a stronger connection with the red balloon. Through this use of character, Lamorisse conveys the beginnings of friendship between the young boy and his red balloon. Another example of friendship is when Pascal is walking home from school and it is raining, he uses strangers umbrellas to not only cover himself from the rain, but he also covers the scarlet balloon as well. Once this scene was shown it was clear that Pascal had established a connection with the balloon. This interaction between the two further solidifies Lamorisse’s concept friendship as it becomes clear that neither of them plan on being separated, and Pascal is going to take care of the scarlet balloon no matter what obstacles they are going to go through.
